Origin story
In 2014, WAZP Founders Shane Hassett and Mariana Kobal saw the untapped potential of 3D printing. With expertise in lean manufacturing and a passion for innovation, they embarked on a mission to make it accessible to all and bring better products faster. They chose to base their business in a picturesque Kerry in Ireland, adding inspiration to their journey. Starting in their kitchen, they explored materials, machines, software and other different tools that were available.
Our mission is to make 3D printing affordable, accessible, and sustainable for every business.
Proving the Potential
We knew 3D printing was ready for the big stage, and we set out to prove it.
Our team of designers and engineers worked alongside IKEA to create the OMEDELBAR collection. This was a pivotal moment - delivering the first-ever global mass-market 3D printed product. It demonstrated that this technology isn't just a novelty; it is a robust, scalable solution for major brands. This collection was followed by IKEAās FLAMTRĆD.
Since then, we have partnered with leaders like VivoBarefoot to power the VivoBiome initiative, creating footwear scanned to individual feet.
From fashion to electronics, we help companies move away from "mass manufacturing" to "smart manufacturing", where everything is made on demand, locally and with little to no waste.
Opening the Doors: WAZP Plus
We believe that sustainable, on-demand production shouldn't be a luxury reserved only for large enterprises.
We took the knowledge we gained working with industry giants - our supply chains, our software, and our production standards - and built WAZP Plus. This platform allows businesses of any size, from local creators to growing SMEs, to access professional-grade 3D printing across the EU and UK.
Innovation with Purpose
We are constantly pushing for better quality. A perfect example is METIS, our bespoke footwear concept.
We noticed that 3D printed shoes often compromised on look or feel. METIS changes that. It is a fully customizable shoe that looks and feels premium, stitched together rather than just molded. It is designed to be worn for years, yet easily disassembled for recycling. Itās technology serving comfort, not the other way around.
What Drives Us
Access - Bringing industrial-grade technology to companies of all sizes.
Sustainability - We believe nothing should be made until it is needed.
Quality - Ethically sourced materials and local EU manufacturing.
The Future - Creating a supply chain that serves people and the planet.
