Job Description

We are looking for an innovative mid-level product/industrial designer, with 1 to 3 years of professional experience, to join our team on a full-time basis in Tralee, Co Kerry, Ireland.


As part of a dynamic international environment, you will help develop state of the art products specifically designed for 3D printing. You will be involved with a variety of industries from consumer electronics to medical, delivering innovative products, to clients of all sizes.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Resolving product aesthetics, usability, function, safety, ergonomics and manufacturability
  • Co-operate with internal “user centered design” approaches
  • Develop innovative product solutions and resolving design issues as they arise in all relevant phases of product development
  • Ability to define customer requirements, translate into product development specifications, and ultimately delivered
  • Sketch out ideas or create renderings that provide a better visual of design ideas which must be communicated internally and with clients
  • Develop products using Siemens NX 3D CAD(or similar software)
  • Liaise with manufacturing partners to ensure manufacturability of products
  • Liaise with wider teams as needed – sales, manufacturing, marketing, finance
  • Supporting the Sales Team with presenting designs and demonstrating prototypes to clients for approval, discussing technical aspects and generating solutions
  • Participate in technical, user, market, brand and manufacturability research during research phases
  • Ensure that timely and accurate project reviews are available
  • Continuously search for improvement and solutions

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Degree in Product Design or similar
  • Strong CAD skills in Siemens NX CAD software or similar (training will be provided if necessary). Proficient in assemblies, surface modeling and 2D drawings
  • Ability to identify complex design and engineering problems and anticipate production issues, develop alternatives, evaluate options, and implement solutions
  • Strong technical ability with a pragmatic approach
  • A desire to learn about additive manufacturing/3D printing technologies
  • Willingness to learn and develop in a dynamic international environment
  • Understanding the requirements of product design for additive manufacturing (desirable but not a limiting factor as training and information will be provided)
  • Be innovative in engineering solutions and the ways in which additive manufacturing requirements are integrated into new products
  • Experience in product development is welcome but not mandatory
  • Experience with deadline/project based work is desirable
  • Ability to easily communicate in English
