WAZP is excited to announce they have become a member of the IDEAM industry cluster. Irish Digital Engineering and Advanced Manufacturing or IDEAM is part of the new national cluster strategy being implemented by Enterprise Ireland. This cluster strategy is coming off the back of successful clusters that have been operating across Europe, where industries have grown by up to 20%. Each cluster is focused on a particular industry where members of that industry combine resources and cooperate to grow the cluster.
The IDEAM cluster is an industry driven, academia fuelled, and government supported initiative that aims to grow Irish Manufacturing SME’s. It will achieve this by researching and sharing knowledge, seeking and applying for funding supports, making its members more competitive, and gaining access to new global markets.
IDEAM which currently has over 70 members already will pay a particular focus to the Digital Transformation of Manufacturing and Industry 4.0. Jamie Meehan PhD, the Educational and Outreach Manager of the IDEAM cluster, will lead the initiative. Jamie is bringing his vast experience to the table having already worked in highly successful clusters in both Ireland and Europe, such as Cyber Ireland, MetalIndustry4, AEI Textils, Biz Up Austria, Forum Oceano and more. CEO and founder Shane Hassett had this to say,
"We are really looking forward to working with the members of IDEAM, this is a fantastic opportunity to prove that Ireland is an innovator and a world leader in advanced manufacturing including Additive Manufacturing. With Jamie’s experience and previous success, I have full confidence that together with IDEAM we will achieve its objectives.”
